About Andrew

I’ve been hooked on fitness since I was 12, inspired by muscle magazines and icons like Arnold. My proudest moment as a coach was turning my wife pro at the 2017 Nationals. I’m driven to keep growing as a coach, building my pro roster and guiding athletes to the Olympia.

Q&A for me

What sparked your interest in fitness?

I always had an interest in muscle. It was a very typical “saw guys like Arnold in movies, started seeing the muscle mags at the grocery store” and was instantly hooked. Started training with weights at 12 and never looked back.

Who or what inspires you the most?

That’s kind of a hard one. I don’t have any one person. I am an avid history reader so looking at the bravery of presidents like George Washington putting his fame and fortune into the hands of the American Revolutionary cause to Abraham Lincoln and his courage in his conviction to keep the union together and end slavery to current educators like Jordan Peterson and his common sense normalcy in a time that is very tumultuous culturally and politically.

What’s your ultimate cheat meal?

I really don’t do cheat meals anymore. Maintaining perfect digestion is just more important to me now. But, yeah, I enjoy a burger or some sushi sometimes.

What’s your proudest accomplishment?

Turning my wife, Rachael Oberst pro at 2017 Nationals in the biggest class (46) that there has ever been at a pro qualifier. She was my first pro card and is still the one that means the most to me.

What motivates you to keep going?

In coaching, at this point I would be lying if I said it wasn’t to build wealth and to use that wealth to invest in further projects. I want to continue to build (and I mean build, not take on) my pro client roster and bring athletes into the Olympia.

As a bodybuilder, I would say it’s to stand apart from typical males in my age group and maintain a life of discipline and routine because it has served me so well up to this point.

In what ways has Granite Supplements impacted your life?

Besides providing top quality supplements that I use every single day, Granite continues to provide a link to my mentor and one of my greatest friends, John Meadows. The lessons I learned from him are invaluable and I would continue to have that as much if I wasn't with Granite.
